The Rutgers UBHC National Center for Peer Support (NCPS™) offers various training options including the Reciprocal Peer Support Model® and the National Peer Support Certification Course. See below for further details.

LEVEL 1

Our peers address behavioral and physical health needs along 8 dimensions of wellness. Our goal is to restore health and reestablish balance within all 8 dimensios for every caller.

LEVEL 2

LEVEL 2

Reciprocal Peer Support™ for Wellness (RPSW) is a Peer Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention approach to peer support through which peers achieve the following four tasks:

  • Connection & Presence
  • Info Gathering & Risk Assessment, Orienting
  • Case Management, Wellness Plans & Goal Setting
  • Resilience, Affirmation & Praise

National Peer Support Certification Course

NCPS is in the process of creating an extensive web-based, interactive course to train peers and certify them in peer support. Advanced courses will also be available. Upon completion, peers will receive a Rutgers Certificate.
